English Language Requirements
All international students must meet the English language requirements for their chosen programme.
The standard requirement for undergraduate and postgraduate study is:
IELTS (Academic)
6.5 Overall
with no individual band score less than 6.0
Other Accepted Tests:
- TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 90 with a minimum of 20 in writing.
- PTE Academic: Overall score of 58 with no communicative skills score below 50.
- NZCEL: Level 5 (Academic).
Academic Entry Requirements
Undergraduate Study
To study a Bachelor's degree, you generally need University Entrance (UE) via NCEA or an equivalent international qualification.
- NCEA Level 3: 14 credits in each of 3 approved subjects.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Diploma with 24 points minimum.
- Cambridge (CIE): 120 points on the UCAS Tariff.
- China: Gaokao score equal to Tier 1 cut-off score for the province.
Postgraduate Study
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject with a B- average or higher in your final year papers.
